Immigration Fees Going Up Effective December 23, 2016

USCIS just announced that the fees for most immigration applications and petitions would increase effective December 23rd. This is the first time in six years that these fees will increase.  Any applications or petitions postmarked or filed on or after December 23, 2016 must include the new fees or USCIS will deny them.

Some of the most common applications affected are the application for citizenship, whose fee will increase to $725 from $680 (including the biometrics fee), and the application for a green card, which increases to $1225 from $1070 (including the biometrics fee).

Applicants will still be able to apply for applicable fee waivers.
